This association brings together Thai surgeons who perform operations (on a voluntary basis) on children with cleft lip. In fact, an operation lasting an hour or so can change a child’s whole life. In Thailand, about 500 babies are born every year with this facial deformity which causes significant impairment for eating and speech.
Goals
- Support the association of Thai surgeons which organises information campaigns and operations twice a year
- Provide financial and logistical assistance with our subsidiary to support children by entertaining them
Terms
- The foundation provides €5,000 to fund events
The subsidiary provides €4,000 for products
350 to 400 operations on children in 2013
In 2013, numerous operations were conducted successfully and the support of the Urgo Foundation was significant in assisting surgeon KOLs, in liaison with the Queen Sirikit Foundation.
