From Blood Donation Campaigns to Pharmacist Training for Atopic Dermatitis Treatment
In 2023, the URGO Foundation, in partnership with Long Chau, led the “Red Day to Save Lives” campaign to raise awareness about the need for blood donations. In 2024, the Foundation is focusing on skin diseases, with a key initiative: training pharmacists to treat atopic dermatitis, in collaboration with leading experts.
Beyond its contributions to first aid, the URGO Foundation promotes new initiatives in other areas of healthcare. In collaboration with Long Chau, Vietnam’s leading pharmacy chain, and the Asthma, Allergy, and Clinical Immunology Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the Foundation has initiated a training program for pharmacists. This program focuses on atopic dermatitis, with the ambitious goal of reducing the use of corticosteroids in treatment.
The first training session took place in July 2023 in Can Tho, with the participation of two experts: Nguyễn Thị Kim Phượng, dermatologist and director of the Mekong Clinic of Sai Gon, and Dr. Nguyen Dinh Huan, professor of pediatrics at Tan Tao University and a dermatologist and pediatrician at Children’s Hospital 2. This training, held in early July 2024, aims to prepare pharmacists for “Eczema Day,” scheduled for October 2. Two additional training sessions with key opinion leaders (KOLs) are planned before then.
On “Eczema Day,” the URGO Foundation and Long Chau will offer valuable resources to patients, including a live broadcast of a conference led by two dermatologist KOLs on Meta Group’s social network – Facebook -, a treatment guide, and free dermatological consultations at pharmacy counters. These initiatives demonstrate the URGO Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare and educating professionals for better skin disease treatment.
These actions further illustrate the URGO Foundation’s commitment to enhancing healthcare in Vietnam. It is paving the way for future collaborations and significant advancements in the healthcare sector. The continuous efforts to educate and train healthcare professionals promise a better future for patients.
