On November 7 and 17, 2024, the URGO Foundation brought together its employees in Chenôve and Paris for the second edition of ENDOrun, a solidarity race dedicated to the fight against endometriosis, in partnership with the ENDOmind association. These events brought together several hundred participants, united by the same cause: to raise awareness of this disease which affects 1 in 10 women, and to support research to improve the lives of patients.
The second edition of the ENDOrun was a highlight for the URGO Foundation and its employees. This solidarity race, organized in partnership with the ENDOmind association, had the dual aim of raising awareness of endometriosis and raising funds to support research.
The first event took place on November 7 at the Stade Léo Lagrange in Chenôve, where 150 employees ran a total of 1,305 laps, or 522 kilometers. Despite the cold, energy and solidarity were the order of the day. A few days later, on November 17, the ENDOrun in Paris brought together 20 of the more than 1,400 participants, confirming the national scope of this collective commitment.
The URGO Foundation: committed to health
Every day, the URGO Foundation strives to improve the health and well-being of patients by supporting innovative projects, particularly in the training of healthcare professionals. Thanks to trusted collaborations with institutions such as INSERM, we are committed to transforming the daily lives of people affected by chronic pathologies such as endometriosis, which remains too often underestimated and misdiagnosed.
Why this cause of endometriosis?
Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, with sometimes devastating consequences on daily life, including chronic pain, intense fatigue and a high incidence of infertility. Yet, on average, it takes 7 years to obtain a diagnosis, leaving millions of women suffering and confused. Supporting research into endometriosis is therefore crucial for us, as it helps to speed up medical advances and raise public awareness, in the hope of changing the diagnosis and treatment pathway for all those who need it. Today, there are non-medical therapeutic solutions such as TENS electrotherapy, which can help relieve the pain associated with endometriosis and improve the quality of life of women suffering from it.
ENDOrun: a concrete commitment from the URGO Foundation
For the URGO Foundation, the ENDOrun is much more than a sporting event. It’s a way of mobilizing employees and partners around the cause of endometriosis. This year marks the second time that the URGO Foundation has joined forces with ENDOmind to make ENDOrun an unmissable event. We are making a financial commitment alongside the ENDOmind association for Endometriosis Foundation Research. This collective mobilization also helps to break the silence around this disease, show our solidarity and encourage positive change in the way this pathology is treated.
Supporting the ENDOrun is a key action for the URGO Foundation, as it helps to inform healthcare professionals and patients about the treatment of endometriosis: engaging our employees in actions that bring meaning and change. We are proud to be part of this cause and to be able to amplify the voice of those who suffer from endometriosis on a daily basis.
With hundreds of participants in Chenôve and Paris, this second edition of ENDOrun proves that every step counts in advancing research and supporting women suffering from endometriosis.
