Conferences to educate healthcare professionals about endometriosis
The Fondation URGO recently took part in two major conferences in France to raise awareness of endometriosis pain management among healthcare professionals. The first conference, Paris Santé Femmes, was held from 12 to 14 June at La Défense, Paris, followed by Gynazur, which took place on 27 and 28 June at the Palais des Congrès in Antibes.
At these events, the Fondation URGO organised conferences highlighting the mechanisms and management of endometriosis pain. The lectures were given by renowned experts such as Dr Amélie Levesque, Professor Stéphane Ploteau and Dr Cristina Graur. The main aim was to raise awareness among healthcare professionals, particularly gynaecologists, midwives and GPs, of the importance of appropriate treatment.
A drive to raise awareness and provide training
Nearly 1,000 people attended the conference. The discussions helped to increase knowledge about endometriosis and to offer ways of better managing the pain associated with this condition. The Fondation URGO continues to invest in training professionals, in particular by providing them with resources and up-to-date information on advances in the management of endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a complex disease in which pain is the main symptom. It can be acute or chronic, and in some cases there is no visible abnormality to match the intensity of the pain described by patients. Research and innovation in the field of natural, side-effect-free treatments to relieve this pain are of crucial importance in improving patients’ quality of life.
Meeting a growing need
Healthcare professionals are showing a growing interest in innovative approaches to the management of dysmenorrhoea and pain associated with endometriosis. While current solutions sometimes have limitations, the Fondation URGO is committed to raising awareness of the importance of finding alternatives that meet the expectations of patients, who are looking for more natural treatments with no side effects. Non-drug approaches such as surgery, acupuncture, yoga, hypnosis, nutrition and electrotherapy can often be beneficial in improving quality of life and relieving pain.
These initiatives at the congresses in Paris and Antibes reflect the Fondation URGO’s commitment to improving the management of endometriosis by raising awareness and educating healthcare professionals.
