Since 2018, the URGO Foundation has been working closely with the Red Cross in Côte d’Ivoire on a priority national health project: improving the health of mothers and children aged 0 to 5, focusing on nutrition issues.

At the end of 2025, the two partners provided concrete support for the fight against child malnutrition in the Cocody-Bingerville health district in Abidjan. Six health centers benefited from training, monitoring, and coaching aimed at strengthening their knowledge and skills, particularly in the implementation of the National Prevention Protocol and PCIMA (Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition).

The priority was to provide the 36 healthcare workers involved with the right tools to ultimately improve the screening, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of cases of acute malnutrition. The Cocody-Bingerville health district is therefore committed to improving the living conditions of children and vulnerable populations at risk of malnutrition by training itself to provide them with the best possible support.

Overall, this is another step towards sustainable improvement in nutritional and health indicators in Côte d’Ivoire. Through these numerous initiatives, the Urgo Foundation, alongside the Côte d’Ivoire Red Cross, is fulfilling its primary mission more than ever to support and train healthcare professionals in order to improve the quality of life of the population!
