Awareness Project on Advanced Dressings for Infected Wounds in Vietnam 2048 1152 The Urgo Foundation

In 2024, the URGO Foundation led a major project in Vietnam to raise awareness among healthcare professionals in the northern and southern provinces about the role of advanced dressings in treating infected wounds. With over 200 participants and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 100%, this program made a notable impact on local care practices.

Addressing a Critical Need

Infected wounds are common in provincial hospitals in Vietnam, where knowledge and use of advanced dressings remain limited. To address this, the URGO Foundation developed a program to educate healthcare professionals in the provinces on the efficacy of advanced dressings, thereby helping to reduce infection risks and improve patient well-being.

Session Overview and Key Highlights

The program was organized into two distinct sessions, each with specific objectives and specialized speakers:

  • Southern Session – An Giang (August 24, 2024): Gathering 120 professionals from several southern provinces, including Can Tho and Kien Giang, this session featured thought leaders from the burns and plastic surgery department of Cho Ray Hospital. Presentations covered current trends in infected wound care and highlighted the role of advanced dressings in effective management.
  • Northern Session – Hai Phong (July 17, 2024): Held at the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Hospital, this seminar attracted 95 participants from the northern provinces. The presentations addressed clinical case studies, with experts detailing the benefits of advanced dressings for improving infected wound care in rural settings.

Outstanding Feedback and a Lasting Impact

Participants expressed their gratitude and emphasized the importance of these sessions for updating their practices. Satisfaction was unanimous, with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 100%, reflecting the quality of the sessions and a high level of passion by these professionals to recommend this program to their peer. Testimonials from doctors and nurses highlighted the relevance of these exchanges, especially for those in rural areas, often isolated from new treatment techniques.

A Lasting Commitment to Quality Care

By organizing this program, the URGO Foundation reaffirms its role in enhancing care and supporting Vietnamese healthcare professionals. This project is part of a larger vision to support public health initiatives, building a network of informed professionals, committed to best practices in wound care.
