Veinous leg ulcers

Strengthening expertise in the treatment of ulcers through venous compression is one of the URGO Foundation’s main objectives in wound healing.

Leg ulcer is a serious condition that causes painful wounds. Patients with leg ulcers face considerable suffering and a reduced quality of life.

Many of these patients do not receive appropriate treatment, resulting in longer healing times, increased risk of complications and higher treatment costs. There is, however, a treatment recommended by health authorities: compression bandaging.

The URGO Foundation is committed to better management of venous leg ulcers:

By raising awareness and training healthcare professionals in the proper use of medical compression.

Through the organization of Leg Ulcer and Compression Days: workshops, symposia, webinars for healthcare professionals: specialists, general practitioners, nurses, pharmacists.

Since 2017, the URGO Foundation has organized the Leg Ulcer and Compression Days, aiming at raising awareness and training healthcare professionals in the management and best care practices for patients with venous leg ulcers.
