Other pathologies with a major impact on patient quality of life

Pain comes in all shapes and sizes. They can be neuropathic, articular, digestive, gynecological or ocular… When they become chronic, these pains have a strong impact on daily life.

Social life, work, sleep, psychological state, autonomy… How can we improve the quality of life of patients suffering from these pathologies?

To answer this question, the URGO Foundation is working on alternative approaches to complement conventional drug treatments, to improve pain management and reduce the side effects of standard treatments. The final objectives are to improve patients’ quality of life and provide them with greater comfort.

To this end, a number of initiatives have been taken, particularly in Italy, to:

Train healthcare professionals to better manage these pathologies, and in particular to use adjuvant therapies to reduce the side effects of standard treatments.

Share best practices for a better management of these pathologies by healthcare professionals.

Develop training programs to provide a better understanding of these pathologies, in partnership with Experts in the field.

Publicize these new approaches through studies and publications, and share them with healthcare professionals and patient associations.
